  • No Chords Barred

    Pop/Rock, Eclectic

Host donald finigan presents No Chords Barred a 90-minute mixed-tape style show that features a wide variety of music by artists worldwide covering 5 decades of popular and alternative artists.
Started in May of 2024, it is an extension of host Donald Finigan’s initial show, The State of independents, as a showcase predominantly for independent artists and/or those who do not receive airplay on local mainstream radio. Unlike The State of Independents, No Chords Barred not only goes back as far as the 1980‘s for music, but also features popular artists and songs to demonstrate that, side by side, there is no drop-off in quality between mainstream and independent artists.

Intentionally eclectic in its music choices, No Chords Barred favours no one particular genre, but does strive to stay away from music heard regularly on popular radio and, as a warning, does air music that contains occasional profanity, although effort is taken to avoid music where it could be deemed distracting or distasteful.
Intended for listeners with open minds, No Chords Barred provides a unique listening experience aimed at broadening our listeners’ appreciation of what music is available in the marketplace.
