Meet Your Hosts

STEFANIE REMPEL (BA-Kin, CSEP-CPT)
Stefanie has a true passion for fitness. She started running boot camps and working as a personal trainer at the Bill Wedlake Fitness Centre in spring 2009, after she graduated from UW with a BA in Kinesiology. Certified as a personal trainer by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, she has since earned her Aatsu Kettlebel certification, CrossFit level 1 trainer certification and CrossFit level 1 gymnastics certification. Stefanie loves working as a fitness professional because there’s always more to learn. “There’s never a dull moment,” she says. “If I can have some sort of positive impact on someone’s life every day, I’m happy.”
Her coaching philosophy is to help people learn to take care of the only body they have by giving them the tools and knowledge they need. “It’s really about improving quality of life and doing that through functional movements!”
BRENT LOHMER (BA-Kin, CSEP-CPT)
Brent grew up in Stonewall, Manitoba. As a youngster, he was heavily involved with hockey, baseball, skateboarding and track and field. His love for sport transitioned smoothly to a love for health and fitness. From a young age he was fascinated with the human body, human movement, the muscular system and how training the body could improve both health and performance.
His love for health and fitness continued to grow through his adolescent years and into his adult life. At this point, he decided to study kinesiology in order to increase his understanding of human movement, health, fitness and performance. Brent graduated with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Exercise Science in 2010. Also, he has been certified as a personal trainer through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology since 2009 and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Today, his love for health and fitness has led him to a life of guiding individuals towards their health, fitness and performance goals through personal training, deep water fitness classes, bootcamps and Zumba. He also coaches the Special Olympics Manitoba Power-lifting team. Today, Brent’s hobbies include reading, running, dancing, skateboarding and obviously, working it out!
Hear more from Brent on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. on his CKUW radio show, Kinesiology Connection.
