Not a problem; we’ve got quite the deal for you. Tonight. Three bands. Five bucks. That’s about… $1.67 per band? Can’t go wrong with that. Starting off the night is Mary Jane Stole My Girl, a psychedelic pop group started by Manic Shakes and Ex Modern Teen member, David Skene. Following them is The Unbelievable Bargains, described as “rockopunkochocopop” on their Facebook page, which really is the best way to describe them. Headlining is The Electrics, a rockabilly rock n’ roll group fronted by Greg Arcade, and including Sean Andert of Les Sexy.

Check out The Electrics, The Unbelievable Bargains, and Mary Jane Stole My Girl at Frame Arts Warehouse (318 Ross Avenue) tonight (May 17th, 2012). Three great local bands are playing: Ex Modern Teen, the Manic Shakes (whose posters, plastered all over downtown, had me confused and intrigued for a few months before I finally ran a Google search), and feminist punk band Softcore (with former Stylus editor Taylor Burgess!). Apparently, if you’d like to be involved in the movie, this is where and when you can get more info. Alternatively, if you’re just looking for something to do, this will probably be a Dangerously Sexy show.

Doors are at 9, and your $7 cover goes straight towards production.

-Adrienne Yeung

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 – Mitten Claps & Wintermitts @ Lo Pub

O0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o, this looks fun! It’s mittens, mittens, and more mittens. Wintermitts are playing at the Lo with Mitten Claps. A folky Franglais band who have songs about sharks, birds and ghosts, they are described as “rollicking as a mid-sea canoe ride” and “as warm as Grandma’s home-knit sweater”.
