Festival season’s here and the time is right for dancing in the street this weekend!\"\"<\/p>\n

Thursday June 14, Friday June 15, and Saturday June 16<\/p>\n

In April, music fans were devastated to find\u00a0War on Musi<\/a>c was nothing more than a gravel pit surrounded by a fence that stated, \u201cDO NOT ENTER.\u201d But less than two months later, War on Music is back with a new location and it\u2019s time to celebrate and to fundraise! War on Music is throwing three shows this week that are sure to please. Thursday will kick off the fundraiser with\u00a0Pip Skid<\/a> with Crooks & Hunnicut,\u00a0Republic of Champions<\/a>,\u00a0Dead Ranch<\/a>,\u00a0The Strap<\/a>, and Deafwish Inc. Friday continues with\u00a0Electro Quarterstaff<\/a>,\u00a0Lonely Vulcans<\/a>,\u00a0Angry Dragons<\/a>,\u00a0Still Lights<\/a>, and Sabbatory. And finally, to end it off on Saturday is\u00a0Zero Cause,<\/a> Forged in Fire<\/a>, Arctic Circle, Up N Atom, and Division.<\/p>\n

The shows on Thursday June 14th\u00a0and Friday June 15th\u00a0take place at The Zoo (160 Osborne Street), and the Saturday June 16th\u00a0show takes place at Kings Hotel (114 Higgins Avenue). These shows have no cover, however, they ask that show goers kindly donate what they can to support War on Music.\u00a0– Shanell Dupras<\/p>\n

ALL WEEKEND BAYBEE<\/p>\n

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! SUMMER! It’s here! It’s here! It’s REALLY and TRULY here!! Put your nose to the wind and smell the sweet aroma of mini donuts basking in their sugary glaze! Walk the streets of downtown Winnipeg and enjoy the finest hotdogs our city has to offer! Stare in amazement at countless itty-bitty shorts and bad sunburns walking around for your oogling pleasure! And after you’ve done all of that, head down to the Cube in \u00a0Old Market Square to enjoy the long list of acts who’ll be performing for the opening weekend of the 2012 Winnipeg International Jazz Festival:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0TONIGHT\u00a0will be the\u00a0Dirty Catfish Brass Band<\/a>, the Tight Fits, Flo, and Maiko Watson. (7 PM-MIDNIGHT)<\/p>\n

–\u00a0FRIDAY\u00a0boasts Trio Bembe, Marco Castillo & Brazillian Beats, De la Rosa,\u00a0Son Latino Band<\/a>, and Papa Mambo. (6 PM-1AM)<\/p>\n

–\u00a0SATURDAY\u00a0enlists the magic of Flying Fox and the Hunter Gatherers, Enjoy Your Pumas,\u00a0Mise en Scene<\/a>, Liptonians, Alfa, the Lytics, andRoyal Canoe<\/a>. (4 PM-1 AM)<\/p>\n

–\u00a0SUNDAY\u00a0is lookin’ good with Dustin Harder and the Dusty Roads Band, Guerillas of Soul, Soulstation,\u00a0the Heavyweights Brass Band<\/a>, the Noble Theifts, and Moses Mayes feat. Maiko Watson. \u00a0(3 PM-MIDNIGHT)<\/p>\n
