It\u2019s 10pm and I find myself at The Garrick Centre shoe-less; security was performing a very thorough pat-down. I hope they noticed my tight sock-game. Local up and comers Goody, Rawg, Chris Bennett and Teddy T performed before main opener R.O.Z. of EMB. He started his set off with one of my favourite tracks off his\u00a0Piff Music<\/em> mixtape the super smooth \u201cRhythm of the Night.\u201d A few tracks from his latest mixtape\u00a0Piff Music 2<\/em> were performed; most notably \u201c\u201997\u201d which features D-Block\u2019s Styles P. He ended off his strong set with the melodically hypnotic track \u201cRollin.\u2019\u201d\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A warning appears on screens letting the audience know that there\u2019ll be bright lights and lasers. This performance will be an entertaining one. \u201cThat\u2019s that shit I don\u2019t like!\u201d blasts through the speakers as Big Sean finally appears on stage. He delivered his verse on the \u201cDon\u2019t Like\u201d remix with conviction.<\/p>\n

During \u201cMy Last,\u201d his song with Chris Brown off his debut album\u00a0Finally Famous<\/em>, you can hear the audience reciting the lyrics. Gotta love it when that happens. There were a few tracks from his latest mixtape\u00a0Detroit <\/em>that made it to the setlist. \u201c24K of Gold\u201d featuring J.Cole, a mellow track with a catchy hook, provided a welcome break between the harder-hitting songs. He told the story of how he had a 3.7 GPA in high school and had a full ride scholarship to Michigan State but decided to make music with Kanye West instead of attending university\u2026 cue \u201cMula.\u201d \u201cAin\u2019t nothing more important than the mula!\u201d<\/p>\n

The crowd\u2019s energy was peaking and the women were shrieking by the time \u201cChardonnay\u201d rolled around. Soon after he tweeted about how live the Winnipeg show was. I didn\u2019t think the show could get any more \u201clive,\u201d but it did when the GOOD Music posse cut from their debut album\u00a0Cruel Summer<\/em> \u201cClique\u201d dropped. \u201cMercy\u201d had so much bass it made my nose itchy. His smash hit \u201cA$$\u201d was very bootylicious. The Garrick could have doubled for a twerk convention. \u201cSupa Dupa Lemonade,\u201d his last song of the night left the audience thirsting for more.<\/p>\n
