Local\u00a0heroes\u00a0<strong>Royal Canoe\u00a0<\/strong>open up the show, scheduled to start at 8. Tickets are $15 in advance or $21 at the door. As well, Jazz Fest continues their Club Series with benign indie rockers\u00a0<strong>Hollerado\u00a0<\/strong>at the Pyramid at 10pm, sounding a bit like <strong>Weezer<\/strong>. With openers\u00a0<strong>Hana Lu Lu\u00a0<\/strong>and a late night set by\u00a0<strong>Beauchamp,\u00a0<\/strong>this show is a steal for only $18 dollars. If that sort of jazz isn&#8217;t your cup of tea, maybe this one is;\u00a0<strong>Jane Monheit\u00a0<\/strong>plays the Burt with her soaring vocals; tickets run for $36.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Saturday, June 22nd.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The day starts off with a great Manito-Ahbee Aboriginal Day Powow at the Forks. Check out the 1:00pm Grand Entry start at The Forks. Also that night,\u00a0<strong>Not Enough Fest\u00a0<\/strong>takes over Negative Space, at 253 Princess. Come see a whole whack of bands playing their first shows ever as Negative Space prepares to close its doors. Only $5 bucks! And if you want to make it out to Gimili,\u00a0<strong>Poorboy,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Kieran West and His Buffalo Band and Naysa\u00a0<\/strong>are playing a rocking show at the Ship and Plough in Gimili. Free show, which probably makes the drive out their worth it for these young guns. Also,\u00a0<strong>The Roots\u00a0<\/strong>are closing out Jazz Fest at the Concert Hall with their drummer,\u00a0<strong>Questlove\u00a0<\/strong>throwing a late night DJ set at the Pyramid with rapper and CBC weekend morning show extraordinaire\u00a0<strong>Ismaila Alfa\u00a0<\/strong>opening up.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Sunday, June 23rd.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>George Benson\u00a0<\/strong>brings his smooth jazz stylings to the Burt. Known for his classic record Breezin, tickets are only $45 and are worth their weight in gold. Otherwise,\u00a0<strong>Mischa Decter\u00a0<\/strong>brings his weekly travelling rock and roll circus to the Rose n Bee for their No Cover Sundays. This weeks rendition includes\u00a0<strong>Sebasiten Owl, Eagle Lake Owls and the Bubbling Wells.\u00a0<\/strong>Check it out for your regular folk, indie hipster crowds; this weeks lineup is not to be missed.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em>Get your game on as Jazz Fest wraps up. Montreal&#8217;s singer\/songwriter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lphoolpa.org\/2012\/12\/howard-st-roy.html\" target=\"_blank\">Howard St Roy\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0is passing through our great city, performing alongside<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lphoolpa.org\/2012\/12\/howard-st-roy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow nofollow\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/div>\n<div>Winnipeg&#8217;s The Tims and Chivas Brother and Kream. A pretty decent line-up for a Tuesday night in ole Winnipeg, no?<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em>Doors open at 9pm, show starts at 10pm. Cost is $5 at the door? <\/em>&#8211;<strong> SB<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Daniel Emberg&#8217;s Two Cents<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><b>Friday, June 21<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Hollerado,<\/b>\u00a0who have quickly become one of Canada\u2019s most beloved guitar pop outfits, will be leading the booty shaking at the Pyramid with a Jazz Fest show also featuring local electronic dance group\u00a0<b>Hana Lu Lu.<\/b>\u00a0The West End Cultural Centre plays host to\u00a0<b>Unknown Mortal Orchestra<\/b>\u00a0with some solid support acts including\u00a0<b>Royal Canoe\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0<b>Bass Drum of Death.<\/b>\u00a0For those who want to get out of town,\u00a0Friday\u00a0is also the kickoff for the first \u201cofficial\u201d Burning Manitobhala Festival out at Duck Mountain \u2013 check their website or the many posters around town for a rundown of the extensive lineup.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Saturday, June 22<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Negative Space is, sadly, almost ready to close up shop. Before doing so, though, they are gifting the Winnipeg music scene with one of the \u201cnew to music\u201d shows that are starting to get traction around the continent as a means of giving space for collaborative musical expression to members of underrepresented and marginalized communities \u2013 it\u2019s called<b>Not Enough Fest<\/b>\u00a0and will feature a bunch of bands you\u2019ve never heard of because they only formed to play this show. Highly recommended. Of course, Jazz Fest will continue on and there will also be many of the best acts in Canada (<b>A Tribe Called Red, Tanya Tagaq, War Party,\u00a0<\/b>many others) playing various venues around town as part of National Aboriginal Day celebrations.
