I like it.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s got a good beat, and you can Jance to it.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cOh, they\u2019re done. On to Deerhoof.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cSo this is Deerhoof?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cYeah, they\u2019ve been around for about 20 years and they play math rock.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cSo they aren\u2019t Deerhunter?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cNo, Deerhunter\u2019s singer is tall and Deerhoof\u2019s singer is short. That\u2019s how you tell them apart.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cAnd they don\u2019t play math rock.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cBut they both put on good shows. Feel that jazzy little guitar riff on \u2018Paradise Girls.\u2019\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s very jazz-student wave. Weren\u2019t these guys originally a noise rock band?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWell yeah, but they\u2019ve discovered the joys of pop. There\u2019s even a singalong chorus of BA-BA-BAs on this song!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI see she\u2019s trying to get the audience to sing along. They aren\u2019t taking the bait.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWell, I will. BA-BA-BA-BA BA BA.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cTopher, stop.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cNo, I\u2019m making up for Winnipeg\u2019s notable lack of enthusiasm for anything. BA-BA-BA-BA BA BA\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cYou\u2019re at the back. She can\u2019t hear you.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWell, darn. They are awfully energetic\u2026\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cAnd tight! You\u2019re going to ruin her concentration with your BA-BA-BAing! It\u2019s like clapping along, it never works!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cPoint taken . . . oh it\u2019s over.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cNo encore?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cNone! Maybe they\u2019re disappointed about the lack of BA-BA-BAs?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWell, shame on Winnipeg. This band deserve better.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cMy apologies to Deerhoof.
