Friday, September 21nd
Local Surf-rockers The Trashers are not only releasing a new EP, they’ve also decided to jump on the now super popular vinyl bandwagon! Which obviously means a release party is in order. Ramp Locals is the new 7” EP, which features three new and original tracks from The Thrashers (I should also mention this 7” comes in YELLOW, which means you and I can add to our collections of rainbow coloured vinyl). Opening the show are equally as fantastic The Upsides and The Vibrating Beds. Not only does this have a killer local line up, but it’s only $8 to get in to The Cavern (112 Osborne), and to pick up a copy of Ramp Locals is only $4; that price being exclusively for this show! Doors open at 9, with The Upsides kicking off the show at 10. – SD

British indie rock darlings Bloc Party are making their return to Winnipeg on Sunday, playing the historic Walker (aka Burton Cummings) Theatre, after three year hiatus from recording. The band has recently released their fourth LP, imaginatively titled Four. Buzz is big around this gig, though I am told there are still some tickets left out there. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening. -SB
