Hey Ya’all,

Its Canada Day Weekend, which means Monday is off for all you music lovers. It’ll be a nice one, so grab a few friends and catch a show or two!

Friday, June 28th

With out a doubt, our pick for top show this weekend goes down at the Windsor Hotel tonight. Greg Macpherson rocks the room with some cool new tunes, with DJ Rob Galston throwing down some cool tracks beforehand. If that isn’t your cup of tea, Oldfolks Home is releasing their new CD at the Park Theatre, with an early start of 8pm. If you hurry, you can catch both of these rocking local groups.

Saturday, June 29th

Art City starts of the day with their Whale Parade, taking place at 1pm, in front of their Broadway Centre. From then on, check out 1001 Nights, put on by MEMTEC at the Pyramid; cover is $10 and the night gets underway at 9pm. Pop Crimes is also releasing their EP at the Windsor and $8 bucks get you in there. Finally, Kieran West and His Buffalo Band rocks the Rose N’ Bee along with The Arlington Trio. Cover is only 5 bones and promises to be at least entertaining.

Sunday, June 30th

As the weekend continues, come by to Osborne Village for a full day of festivities. Live music stems from from The Toad, Music Trader and the Zoo so come check out the ever rotating group of musicians. That night, check out No Cover Sundays at the Rose N’ Bee with Gourmet Scum, Surprise Party and The Siffers.

Monday, July 1st

Canada Day is upon us. Stylus recommends checking out the Forks for a day of celebrations. Pro Tip: Check out the Scotiabank Stage at 6pm for Mise en Scene, followed by The Treble and Bryce Pallister. Closing the night off and with cuts from their new record, Imaginary Cities with the WSO.

Fireworks all weekend as Winnipeg continues to inch towards Folk Fest.
