Happy Louis Riel Day Long Weekend, Winnipeg! Let’s party like it’s 1869!

Thursday, February 14

Hope all you folks got a hot date tonight. But even if you don’t, there are a couple shows worth checking out, and its fully possible to hit them all up. So giver shit and make it happen!

First off, there’s a (sold out, I’m told) show down at the Park Theatre. Up and coming Canadian Country stars and Hillbilly Highway favourites Lindi Ortega and Dustin Bentall & The Smokes will be playing a red hot night down in South Osborne. Up at the Times Change(d), Romi Mayes serenades the dinner crowd (7 – 9pm) while Andrew Neville kicks it up a notch for the whisky drinkers after 10pm.

And of course, who could forget Draft Night at the Windsor. This week features a CKUW FUNdrive edition, with Smoki T & The Manitobandits, J Riley Hill & The Magic Bears, The Blisters, and DJ Destination Moon! Holy Moly!

So much to do, so little time. Pack a flask, y’all! -SB

Friday, February 15

It’s Festival du Voyageur!  There are going to be tonnes of shows happening throughout the weekend, and of course, the rematch with Pittsburgh.  If you’re at the Festival Friday night, check out The Crooked Brothers playing with The Sturgeons and Slick and the Woodticks.   Will definitely be a good night.

Festival tickets are available at Voyageur Park (866 Rue Saint Joseph); show starts at 7:15 PM. DP
