Mariachi Ghost blends traditional Mexican music with roots-rock wall of sound, like a louder, psychedelic Los Lobos. They wear traditional costumes and makeup, they have dancers, their show is beguiling, and they are playing the Windsor Hotel Friday and Saturday.
Friday night, they pair up with Indicator Indicator; Quinzy frontman Sandy Taronno’s alt-pop side-project.
On Saturday, Mariachi Ghost is joined by the Cannon Bros. and Mama Cutsworth for Cabin Fever 2, a fundraiser for the Harvest Moon Society and the Clearwater Cabins project.
The Cannon Bros. write noisy songs with sugar-sweet melodies and their live show is good clean fun. Mama Cutsworth is one of the best DJs around, period.
