#2 // TAME IMPALA – LONERISM

A psychedelic freak-out mixed with Kevin Parker’s Lennonesque vocals makes for some great listening full of rock and roll hooks. — Kelly Leschasin

#1 // PROPAGANDHI – FAILED STATES*

Every Propagandhi record goes as follows (for myself anyway): I don’t know about this one… It’s different, way heavier than their last…Songs 1, 3, 6, and 8 are pretty good… THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM THEY HAVE EVERY RELEASED! Each Propagandhi record requires a fair listen to be absorbed properly. The layers and complexity of the vocals and music slowly unfold and you are rewarded with a thought provoking, hard rocking gem of an album each time. Failed States is a more focused and concise (and full on HEAVY!) effort than their amazing Supporting Caste, glimpses of the “thrashyness” were seen on previous releases but Failed states shows these Winnipeggers at their most pissed and inspiring. This is what music is all about. — Scott Wolfe
