I just want to start by saying that I was completely misled by the album art of Krewella’s Get Wet. I was under the impression I was about to listen to a Blink 182 style pop punk record. Electronic dance music isn’t really my thing but after this American group made number forty on the New Zealand Albums Chart we can’t say they aren’t trying. I pictured this album as a music video. I see a lot of slow motion partying with random appearances by Skrillex DJing by the pool. Released in September this is Krewella’s first album. By next year a couple songs will likely flood the radio and clubs for a few months then everyone will forget about them entirely. If they’re trying to be stereotypically mainstream than they’re definitely on the right track. And hey, they’re going to make more money than all of us.
