Royal Canoe, Demetra, Jenny Berkel @ Lo Pub
So it’s still technically spring, but school’s out, and so I usually just relabel this glorious chunk of freedom as summertime: a season dedicated to frolicking, good music, and bands going on tour! All of which is going down at the Lo Pub TONIGHT!!! Your local faves
Royal Canoe,
Demetra, and
Jenny Berkel are going on tour, and their show will be full of the sounds of love. Royal Canoe will get you grooving with their dark, distorted pop, Demetra Penner’s voice will carry you to dreamy heights, and Jenny Berkel will haunt you into the tiny hours with her pretty voice and guitar.
Sound like a fun night? Tickets are available at the door for $10. Doors are at 9; the show is at 10. -Adrienne Yeung

Transistor 66 – 10 Year Anniversary Party @ The Park Theatre
Oh, Miesha Miesha Miesha. Meeshmeesh. Meeshmeeshmeesh. Her name is just so fun to say, how could you not like her? But in all seriousness, this girl is a badass and her music is tough as nails.. Her show at the Death Trap (R.I.P.) last year was super loud and rockin’, and I’d encourage all yall to go out and expect a good time. Also playing that show is local awesomes Microdot, This Hisses and the Lonely Vulcans.
In celebration of their 10-year anniversary, Transistor 66 is hosting this show as a part of their weekend of T66 bands. This one’s happening on Saturday, tix are $10 in advance, doors at 8, show starts with Microdot at 9. Time and money well spent, I’d say.-
