Do you remember Soulja Boy? Yeah? I’m sorry. Juicy J is one of those rappers who rhymes small words slowly but he says them with so much swag that you simply can’t dispute him. I mean who can argue with “thumbin’ through so much money that I need three hands to count it?” Juicy J said he originally “recorded” 80 songs for this record. I believe he’s rolling in the stacks because he clearly never leaves his hotel room to spend it. Former Three Six Mafia member and record producer, Juicy J is a busy man with a solid reputation. Stay Trippy is his third solo album and I don’t think he’s stopping anytime soon. I’m more of a Body Count, Public Enemy kind of girl, but I won’t lie here: I hated this album when I started listening to it. Half way through the repetition of music and lyrics caused me to forget I was listening to it entirely, and by the end I was totally groovin’. Touché Juicy J, touché.
