Jazz: Alive & Well
Is Jazz dead? Not on One Man’s Jazz. Despite the dire predictions of the genre’s demise and tanking sales, some of us fight the good fight. Fact is, there has been some amazing music released in the last several years. Combine that with the time-of-year compilations of best-of lists for the past year, decade, etc … well what a good excuse to pick out some very interesting music.
Catch One Man’s Jazz on Saturday Dec. 26 for a five-hour “best-of-the-best” extravaganza, beginning at 11 a.m. From our very first show on CKUW in May of 1999 to the end of 2008, we’ve combed the best-of lists, and created an amazing playlist of great music. And then the following Saturday, January 2nd, catch the top picks for 2009.
