  • Giving Tuesday December 2nd

Posted by Rob on December 1st, 2025

Giving Tuesday is a tradition where after the consumerism of Black Friday we ask listeners to reflect on and support the things that matter in your community!

This is a great time to renew your support to CKUW or to make a first time donation to CKUW. Donations from listeners like you enable us to maintain and improve upon the independent, locally focused radio that you enjoy. CKUW initiatives such as Radio Camp, Stylus Magazine, and listener available on-line programming archives would not be possible without your contributions.

Please make a secure donation today at https://ckuw.ca/donate

  • Global Research News Hour is off the air

Posted by Rob on September 5th, 2025

Since 2013 the Global Research News Hour has provided alternative news and opinion on topics both foreign and domestic. On Friday September 5th host Michael Welch bid the audience farewell and signed off (for now) on CKUW. We thank Michael for hundreds of hours of uncompromising radio that challenged mainstream stories and provided a platform for marginalized voices.

Michael has a long history with CKUW, previously serving as News Director and we hope to have him back on air someday soon. Thank you to the audience and supporters of The Global Research News Hour, CKUW promises to continue being a place for alternative news and opinion long into the future, to Michael, best of luck with whatever is next!
