Perhaps best well-known for his stint with Weather
Report, Alex Acuña has been a force in the
business, recording with people such as Ella
Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell (Don Juan’s Daughter),
Beck, U2, The Smithereens, Los Lobos, Joe
Cocker, Seal, and many, many other artists in
every imaginable genre.
Musicians such as Alex Acuña rarely find their
way to the CKUW studios, but we’ve got him.
Live on the 26th, around 2:30 pm.
Hayley Westenra, the amazing young soprano from New Zealand, will be interviewed live via telephone during the program.
This Sunday Alexander Mickelthwate, Music Director of the Winnipeg Symphony
Orchestra, will be live in studio to outline the orchestra’s 2009/2010
season.
