Happy Birthday CKUW!
Although this week marks our 11th birthday on the FM dial, CKUW is actually a lot older. In 1963 a student named David Shilliday, along with physics prof. Ron Riddell started a closed circuit station at U of W. Here’s a page from Sept. 1963 ‘Freshie Handbook’ introducing radio to the unsuspecting campus:
