  • The History of James Brown (In The Pocket Radio)

    In The Pocket celebrates the legendary history of one of funk and soul’s gems, The Godfather of Soul, The Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Mr. Please Please Please himself, James Brown. Host Kevin McLean will take you through the early years at King Records, where Brown solidified his take on Soul. Through the founding years of funk with his hits like ‘Cold Sweat’, ‘Get on The Good Foot’, ‘Hot Pants’, and ‘Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag’ to name a few.

    Tune in to The History of James Brown unfold in the next few weeks on In The Pocket with Kevin McLean, Monday’s from 3:30 to 5pm on CKUW 95.9 FM.

    Last weeks campers put together this really cool documentary about CKUW. They interview a few of our staff and some volunteers. It’s really good so I thought I’d put it up here for everyone to hear!

  • Volunteers wanted!

    CKUW is always looking for volunteers from the campus and community. If you have a passion for radio, music and ideas or just want to help out behind the scenes let us know! We schedule training workshops every couple of months. The training is free and takes a total of about four hours.
