One Man’s Jazz will have a special guest on the show of June 7th. Shawn Pierce, who recently took up residence in Winnipeg, is one of Canada’s top recording and mixing engineers as well as an award winning composer for television, film and video games.

Shawn has engineered and mixed several JUNO Award-winning recordings, been nominated dozens of times for JUNO’s, WCMA and West Coast Music Awards.

Most recently, he engineered and mixed guitarist Bill Frisell’s latest project, “History, Mystery”. And with many other jazz projects under his belt, you can expect to hear him talk about Canadian jazz artists he’s worked with. Might hear a little Frisell too.

They are grade 10 students at Collège Jeanne-Sauvé, a French immersion high school in the Louis Riel School Division. The three of them have prepared a French immersion radio show all “En français” in which they will present songs that range from indie pop, rock and punk from bands of Québec and France.

They will share interesting information about these artists, some are little known here in Manitoba but are definitively worth discovering. They can’t wait !
