  • Web Service Problems

Posted by Rob on December 11th, 2006

Dear faithful CKUW fans, we apologize for the problems with our web services over the last weekend. We are working to try to make our web services (archives, streaming etc..) reliable but it’s proving to be a challenge. The archiving is so popular that it’s use is crashing the server!! Last week over 30 GIGABYTES (More than 1000 hours!) of CKUW programming was downloaded.

To help ease the strain, please refrain from downloading programs like Democracy Now! that are available elsewhere on the web. This would be a big help.

It’s exciting that you folks appreciate the archives and we’ll keep working to make them a valuable and reliable resource for every CKUW fan.
