Seaway

Seaway will be bringing their sugar-sheened pop punk back to Winnipeg on July 12 in support of last year’s Vacation. This will be the band’s first Canadian tour of the album but with the gap from release time, these guys haven’t let up. Running off a solid schedule on the road and recently coming off a tour in support of Sum 41, the band have been making waves with their sprightly summery tunes. YES FEST 001 – FESTIVAL RECAP

Yes Fest is all about bringing obscure, up-and-coming bands of various genres into the spotlight. This was accomplished in spades this year at the first official festival put on by Yes Wave Promotions. The festival took place over three days at various venues in Winnipeg and featured fourteen bands from all across Canada. While it was not without its hiccups, the festival was still a smashing success, and Yes Wave promoters have big dreams for the festival in the coming years. Founded by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Allie Hanlon, the band has made waves not only in Canada and the US, but overseas as well, particularly in Tokyo, Japan, where the band has toured many times. Live show review : Warming, Soup, Dana Lee

The cold wind subsided and soothed the air in Winnipeg on the evening of February 17, but the weather wasn’t the only thing warming up. Brady Allard’s new project, Warming, played their first set on that Saturday evening. The lineup at the Handsome Daughter included two other groups: SOUP and Dana Lee.
