While looking for an event to write about, I was instantly drawn to Winnipeg blues-rock group The Perpetrators’ snarly yet laid-back garage sound. Whether you’re a long-time fan of this home-grown band (they’ve been around since 1999 and have since then earned a Western Canadian Music Award as well a Juno nomination) or just want to be around some solid guitar work and energetic stage presence, this may be something worth checking out. The mysterious extradimensional musical entity that is Smoky Tiger will be landing in Winnipeg once again on Friday the 13th to play a set full of spaced out mind meltingly bizarre jams at the one & only Times Change(d). The cause for celebration? None other than some sugar-time-flashback-joys by way of Big Bad Burton Cummings. Holy fuck. I wish to Nammtar I was in town for this one, but I’ll be running back to Saskatoon instead. If you are in the city, and you like getting wild & weird to the tunes of Big Burt, you best be getting down to the Times.
