Volunteer Agreement
As a volunteer, you are an important member of CKUW 95.9 FM. This document aims to clarify what you can expect as a volunteer and what is expected of you by CKUW 95.9 FM. We ask that you read, check that you read each item and sign the following Volunteer Agreement.
CKUW 95.9 FM Volunteer Responsibilities
Everyone is expected to act responsibly; behaving otherwise can result in the loss of volunteer privileges.
All volunteers agree to abide by CKUW 95.9 FM’s policies, rules and regulations;
All volunteers must be in good financial standing with the Winnipeg Campus and Community Radio Society (CKUW 95.9 FM);
Programmers are responsible for signing-in at the time of their radio show, and for correctly and completely logging the broadcast content of their shows;
Programmers who cannot be present for their show are responsible for finding a fill-in host who is a CKUW 95.9 FM member volunteer in good standing for that block of time;
On-air volunteer privileges on CKUW 95.9 FM are exclusive, whereby volunteers are not hosting another radio show on one of the other community stations;
Every volunteer is responsible for the policing of the station. Theft will not be tolerated;
All volunteers are expected to complete the training process;
All volunteers are expected to clean up after themselves and keep the station tidy. CDs, tapes and vinyl must be returned to their proper place;
Volunteers are responsible for reading all memos left in their mailboxes, sent over the CKUW listserve and posted on the CKUW bulletin board;
Volunteers are expected to attend all general volunteer meetings;
All volunteers must ensure that the station has an accurate record of their address and phone number and email address; and
All volunteers are expected to participate in promoting CKUW 95.9 FM, including participation in CKUW’s fundraising efforts.
By my signature I declare that I have read and understand my volunteer responsibilities and rights enclosed in this Volunteer Agreement, and will strive to fulfill all parts therein.
CKUW 95.9 FM Volunteer Rights
If you ever feel like you are being treated unfairly, please bring your concerns to the Manager or the Winnipeg Campus Community Radio Society Board of Directors. Everyone deserves to enjoy their
time at CKUW 95.9 FM.
You have the right to be treated with respect;
You have the right to know as much about the organization as possible;
You have the right to training and continuing education as a volunteer;
You have the right to be informed of new developments and changes affecting your involvement with the station;
You have the right to a suitable role with respect for personal preference, temperament, abilities, educational and employment background;
You have the right to an accessible space;
You have the right to guidance by someone who is knowledgeable and who is willing to invest time in helping you;
You have the right to develop your broadcasting skills and to take on more challenging roles as your skills develop;
You have the right to voice your concerns and opinions. Your ideas are of great value and necessary to the growth of CKUW 95.9 FM; and
You have the right to appeal any decision which may affect your participation with CKUW 95.9 FM.
