Shades of Classics is proud to present the radio premiere of Symphony No. 1 by Canadian composer Bruce Mitchell. In describing this work, Bruce says that “Symphony No. 1 was written as a prayer for peace following 9/11 and the resulting onslaught on the Middle East, and yet is also a wake up call to humanity. There are also shades of ‘Lord of The Rings’ themes within it as I see a parallel between the two.” The full-length work will be introduced to our listeners by the composer himself.
