Julia’s debut solo work, Delay, is a powerful and beautiful album, and definitely a favourite on shop worn angel. Julia’s layered cello sounds are warm, melancholy and pensive, with the sounds moving through your entire body.
Julia is a former member of Rasputina, and has recorded and performed with Antony and the Johnsons, The Angels of Light, Current 93 and many other musicians.

Creator of the ‘Pigs beloved late 70’s/early 80’s music fanzine “Jett Set”, Gordie will share insider gossip on Joan, Cherie and the gang as we hear vintage Runaways and related tunes as well as a rare 1977 recording of Joan Jett calling in to Rodney Bingenheimer’s radio show in the middle of an interview with the Dictators.
And we’ll somehow justify it all as country music. An event not to be missed!

Namenlos pt.2 on the 25TH FLOOR JUKE JOINT
Tune into 95.9 FM, Thursday April 8 at 8 pm – 9 pm to listen to Michael H. from Namenlos (an East Berlin punk band during the 1980’s) describe more of the bands experiences advocating for free speech and basic human rights while persecuted by the Stasi (East German Secret Police) and right wing Neo-Nazi Skinhead groups. Learn how different organized groups like the local Church leaders and Peace Movement fought with Namenlos and the local punk scene to bring an end to oppression.
