Wow Winnipeg! You love CKUW as much as we do. Together your pledges add up to a whopping $57,518. More than that, you helped us make history but pledging more than our previous record of $56,030. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We really can’t say it enough.

If you missed Fundrive on-air, we can still accept your pledge on-line or by phone in the office at 204-786-9782.

Please remember that pledge payment and incentive pick up has moved to the UW Bookstore in the AnX, the old Greyhound Bus terminal, this year. Their hours are Monday-Friday 9:30am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm. They will be closed this Monday, February 18 for Louis Riel Day.

Again, a big heart felt thank you to everyone that donated to support CKUW this past week.

  • So Much Love for Community Radio

Posted by Robin on February 14th, 2013

Thank you, thank you!! We’ve had $46,000 pledged so far. That’s a whole lotta love for the programs you hear on CKUW.

Fundrive ends tomorrow at 6pm. That means we have 26 hours left to hit and move beyond our goal of $53,000. The more we have pledged, the better our broadcast service to you. Phone operators are standing by to take your pledge at 204-774-6877 or donate securely on line.

This year, pledge payments and incentive pick ups are being done at the UW Bookstore in the AnX between Balmoral and Colony, with parking in the lot off Colony. Hours are Monday-Friday 9:30am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm. The UW Bookstore will be closed on Monday, February 18 for Louis Riel Day.

  • Thank you Winnipeg, lets keep Fundrive humming…

With your help we have raised nearly $34,000 for community radio in downtown Winnipeg.

CKUW contributes to our community in many ways. On-air we have more than seventy locally produced programs, we offer free broadcasting training to all and every summer we run a really fun kids radio camp.

Your donation supports all these great things. If you haven’t yet contributed we need you to pledge now by calling 204-774-6877 or online at fundrive.ckuw.ca We need a minimum of $53,000 by Friday. Every dollar past our goal will allow CKUW to do even more great things in the community.

    Kazoo Know-How

Many donors have reported difficulty with their 50th anniversary commemorative CKUW kazoo (available for any donation while supplies last!). Manager Rob Schmidt demonstrates konventional kazoo knowledge in this short klip:

  • Halfway there!

Posted by Rob on February 12th, 2013

We’re approaching $27,000 here at CKUW marking the halfway point to our goal of $53,000.

Keep ringing the phones at 204-774-6877 and pledging online at fundrive.ckuw.ca !

Hitting our goal is the first step towards keeping CKUW vital and fiercely independent in downtown Winnipeg. Truthfully, we’re hoping to sail past the goal so we can do even more for you in our community on air and on the ground.

Our shirts this year feature a gramophone design, you can view it and the other great incentives online here: Fundrive Incentives

While supplies last, all donors will receive a special 50th anniversary CKUW kazoo to celebrate with us!
