  • Summer begins at CKUW

    On-air programming continues as normal but our office operations are slowing down a little for the summer. Our office hours remain 10am – 5pm but please call or email ahead if you need to meet with staff. We’re still busy with our many projects, here’s a few of the things you can look forward to this summer on CKUW:

    • Garageland Radio – Saturdays in June
    • CKUW at Central Park – Canada Day
    • Radio Camp – July & August
    • CKUW Reunion – Coming in September!

  • Radio Conference June 11-15th

    CKUW is hosting the National Campus & Community Radio Conference running to June 15th. Last night we honoured radio programmers during the National Community Radio Awards. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to our own Michael Welch & Jordan Poitras.

  • NCRC 2013 Begins Tuesday June 11th

    Campus and Community radio staff and volunteers will be gathering at the University of Winnipeg next week for the National Campus/Community radio conference. It has been 10 years since we last hosted this gathering and we’re excited to welcome friends new & old back to Winnipeg.

    Conference highlights for the general public include:

    • Tune in for visiting DJ’s on-air at CKUW
    • The Red Jam Slam – Tuesday June 11
    • Public lecture ‘Israel, the US and Mideast Policy’ by David Barsamian – June 14th

    Every Saturday in June, tune into CKUW for live garage sale radio. Starting at 9am, Our band of volunteers scours the city for the best (and worst) deals to be had though back yards and lawns all over Winnipeg.
