The three-part series was lovingly curated by internationally-renowned electronic musician Keith Fullerton Whitman, and designed for airplay by a dedicated group of local volunteers. Student Radio Marathon: The Day After

What a day!

Yesterday, on November 8th, 2018, CKUW opened its doors to the student population of the University of Winnipeg and invited them to make the radio content of their dreams. They didn’t disappoint. See below for the downloadable versions of all our special Student Radio Marathon programs!

Special Remembrance Day programming

On the occasion of Remembrance Day week, CKUW 95.9FM is airing a very special Remembrance Day broadcast.

Tune in on Saturday November 10th at 8am, as well as Sunday November 11th at 5pm for Letters, a locally-produced radio play.

Letters is a radio play written by local playwright Brian Langlotz. It’s inspired by real events of World War II, featuring those of the playwright’s family members who served as soldiers in that conflict. Come follow the journey of Paul Bailey, played by Jordan Phillips, a Canadian soldier fighting his way through Italy during World War II, and his wife Betty, portrayed by Elizaveta Katykhina, waiting for him to return, as told through the letters they send each other.

This special production was recorded and produced at CKUW 95.9FM.

7th Annual Student Radio Marathon

On November 8th, the University of Winnipeg’s student body will once again take over the on-air studio at CKUW. From 6am to midnight, tune in to hear them play their favourite tunes and talk about their passions, studies, lived experiences, and more. Topics will include comedy, gaming, student involvement in politics, movies, learning disabilities, and so much more!

Be sure not to miss this engaging broadcast, which may well be the springboard for future CKUW programmers! Furthermore, there is still time for students to sign up to participate in the marathon by clicking here .
