    On his program ‘Of No Fixed Address’ volunteer Al Wiebe has been talking to candidates for Mayor of Winnipeg. With a focus on homelessness and related city issues, we are proud to share these conversations with the candidates.

    Thanks to a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada CKUW is looking for a person to assist in the production of the program ‘Truth Before Reconciliation.

    Truth before Reconciliation is a program created and hosted by Tammy Wolfe. The show provides listeners with a variety of knowledgeable perspective on both current and historical context of Indigenous truths throughout Canada, in order to educate, inform and encourage reconciliation through community awareness and taking action.

    The sign up for our annual Culture Days celebration, DIY DJ, is now active!

    On September 23, we’re inviting the listening public in for some one-time-only ‘DIY’ radio. Sign up with a friend, or on your own, and create a radio show with the technical assistance of our trained volunteers. Bring in your favourite music, recordings that are meaningful to you, and take over the airwaves!

  • Special Programming- Manitoba Birds Series

    This summer, host Jonny B will be sitting down with local experts to talk about the work they’re doing to research, educate, and conserve habitat for local birds. Guests will include Kim Bisson & Rick Onskie of Nu-Sun Cinema, Jim Duncan of Discover Owls, Amanda Shave of Manitoba Chimney Swift Initiative, Manitoba EBird Moderator Robert Parsons, and Grad students Lakesha Smith & Hannah Toutonghi who are studying Purple Martins and Northern Hawk Owls, respectively.

    The Series will air Thursdays 8am to 9am starting August 11th to September 8th
