Enjoy the last weekend in May with some dang good live music!

Yes We Mystic are playing at Aqua Books tomorrow at 8 pm with When the Boy Wakes, and boy oh boy oh boy, this should be good. These guys were kind enough to stop by and play a great set on the final day of CKUW’s Fundrive. After all the hassle of moving equipment into the tiny live room, the excitement of jamming on air, and the final push to get everyone out of the studio again, they offered a real lightness in the midst of much chaos. Not long after leaving the station and heading out of the U of W, I stumbled upon a couple of the Yes We Mystic members jamming in one of the many insanely yellow stair wells, still going hard and attempting new material. These guys a great new band to watch out for, and it’s worth every dollar to check them out. – Victoria King
